The 4th of July began this year with a new event. We traveled to the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon to enjoy the Brighton breakfast and parade. There was a unique sense of patriotism as we gathered with others to enjoy our breakfast in the top of the mountains.
The kids just mostly enjoyed catching all of the candy thrown by the parade participants.

After an already eventful morning we went to my Sister's house for a little BBQ and swimming. Cassidy and Mckay were like little fish that couldn't be out of the water for more than a few seconds without twitching to get back in.
They are very cute together!
As customary, the evening came with us back home lighting fireworks in our small circle. I think the kids were more excited about the tub of popcorn than they were about the colorful flames. It was a wonderful day spent with family, and a great reminder of the blessing it is to live in Freedom in our great Country!!

I'm all about the candy too. There was a parade that went right in front of our house...the City Parade. Honestly - it was nothing compared to the Utah ones...but I was one of two adults yelling and jumping for candy!
